…for the last 24 hours, this cave has been my home.

Raging storms throughout the night and into the day made their way to me at points due to what must be another entrance further in.

But finally, it has all started to calm down a bit, I can leave this world for greener pastures…

A mere 30 seconds after leaving the atmosphere I was hailed once more by this beautiful creature.

In what is becoming a pattern, I was given another set of coordinates to a nearby system.

Voidy in symbiosis with this creature gave me a vision… a beautiful green world… full of life.

This system, a hidden paradise, a single planet of green and blue…

Practice I had received over the last few days in locating strange alien monuments via a standardized coordinate system aided me greatly in swiftly locating this next spot.

Voidy Tip!

When searching a planet for a Lat/Long coordinate, it is best practice to first look for the second of the 2 coordinates, in this example (-16, -96) this would be the -96.

For this you should either travel what you perceive to be East or West.

Doing this, leaves the first coordinate (-16) to be refined using the North and South markers, which is far more precise and will not result in you drifting off course and requiring you to redo the other coord.

Lining your starship up and then performing atmosphere jumps to more quickly get around the planet speeds things up immeasurably.

Also, staying very high (just under the line where you cross from the planet into space), will result in far faster flying speeds while still being able to see the Lat/Long of your current position.

Upon arrival, night had firmly taken hold.

Touching the ancient monument… it felt strange… it was quite warm to the touch, whether this be due to the days sun, or the inner workings, I couldn’t tell… though the grass at my feet… beaded with condensation.

The evening breeze brings a chill.

Interfacing with this monument triggered a further request for seemingly impossible organic tech, a living membrane that can repair itself indefinitely.

An immortal complex lifeform.

This-this is beyond me, but the monument seems not to doubt me and relayed the plans to craft such a thing.

The materials I require are a mixture of casual and rare beyond belief, namely, this “Living Water”.

The Chromatic Metal was already on my person, as while an incredibly valuable and highly refined substance, it is used regularly in starship maintenance, so I keep a healthy supply at all times.

Next on the list is a Hypnotic Eye…

I am no stranger to Abyssal Horrors, and I have no qualms with mercilessly culling them.

I don’t consider them worthy of my pity… but… they are exceptionally unpleasant to face…

The sooner I deal with it, the sooner I can forget about it.

Scanning the vast deep ocean’s of this planet, I found a very old distress signal.

Abyssal horrors regularly find shelter in flooded structures.

It took quite some time to make my way there.

I was fortunate not to attract the local sea life.

I have no idea what lives in this ocean, but some of it will certain bite.

Abyssal Horrors don’t have any real intelligence. They run purely on instinct, and despite their enormous eye, they are exceptionally unaware of anything other than a few feet around them.

Their danger comes from camouflage and a complete lack of motion when inactive.

Get too close, there are no second chances…

It was a short encounter.

After clearing the 2 Abyssal Horrors that had claimed this place, I took a look inside for anything of value.

A log on a terminal inside questioned the universe and the sentinels within it.

Their existence, their origin and their purpose.

I did not expect such deep thought to be locked away in such a forgotten place.

I also found just shy of 150 nanite clusters, I know just the Gek who would love these.

Last on the list… Living Water

With no idea where to even start with this, I decided to take a break and get some rest in my ship.

During my slumber… Voidy made contact.

A vision…

Space….    Speed….    And a bright blue light

What I seek, is not bound to a planetary body…

For hours I travelled.

No Destination.

… and then…

It appeared.

A celestial behemoth, the size of a space station.

Blinding and beautiful at the same time- then it spoke…

A telepathic link… it is intelligent… it can communicate… it knew what I sought… and it gave it willingly…

I had obtained Living Water, a beautiful substance, responsive to light and disturbance, it seemed to react as thousands of individual lifeforms, yet perfectly synchronized.

As I returned to the monument, a storm was raging.

My mind distracted by the previous celestial encounter, I over shot the landing and nearly crashed.

I decided to wait the storm out before crafting the membrane.

I could not ask for more Living Water, I would not.

It was freely given, but at a cost, a sacrifice.

A beautiful night…

…to craft a lifeform
