Today we go for the No Man’s Sky Fragile Heart in our Starbirth Quest to hatch our Void Egg into a Living Ship in this new No Man’s Sky Living Ship Update released yesterday.

After making some minor efficiency related changes to my on-board AI, I caught a few hours of rest in front of the Ancient Monument of Korvax Prime.

Upon waking, I checked the Fragile Neural Stem to see that it had matured.

It took a little under a day on this planet however difficult it may be to gaze upon the system star through this thick spectrum voiding atmosphere.

After consuming a solid food parcel, I took off from this world, to search for more answers.

While making my way to the nearest warp point in the system, I was once again hailed by this mysterious lifeform.

I was given yet another address nearby, a system with a planet my shelled friend appears to be interested in.

On entering the system I was greeted by a large planet.

Initial scans showed it was a bleak world, largley void of water, prone to extreme storms.

I hesitated to go toward it but Voidy… I named the egg, his name is Voidy… he seemed to be drawn to this planet, growing ever more active the closer we got, sharing vision of it’s dusty plains with me.

…so I made my descent…

Entering the atmosphere of this parched planet the visions became more concise, as Voidy somehow communicated some coordinates once more with my starship’s AI.

Voidy Tip!

When searching a planet for a Lat/Long coordinate, it is best practice to first look for the second of the 2 coordinates, in this example (-16, -96) this would be the -96.

For this you should either travel what you perceive to be East or West.

Doing this, leaves the first coordinate (-16) to be refined using the North and South markers, which is far more precise and will not result in you drifting off course and requiring you to redo the other coord.

Lining your starship up and then performing atmosphere jumps to more quickly get around the planet speeds things up immeasurably.

Also, staying very high (just under the line where you cross from the planet into space), will result in far faster flying speeds while still being able to see the Lat/Long of your current position.

Reaching the coordinates rough area, I landed and switched to my exosuit Analysis Visor for a more local reading that gives greater accuracy.

While homing in on the coordinate, I ran into some local fauna that were not too friendly.

I had disturbed them as they were hunting and scared of their prey, my only option was to defend myself.

Being one who is not a fan to waste a life, I proceeded to use my multitool to refine the bio mass of the creatures into a slick oily goo before once again into a crystalline form known as Mordite.

This substance is useful on occasion, and I am not really a fan of culling fauna of any world just for the sake of retrieving it.

After not too much travel, I reached a second Ancient Monument.

Different to the last, but it’s construction visibly the same.

Connecting to this monument I once again had a telepathic link with what must be an ancient AI, recalling past events from the long lost Korvax Prime.

The Monument requested I provide another Item, this time a “Pulsating Core”.

Once again I found my knowledge lacking, but the monument made up for this gap with 2 blueprints.

The first for the Core itself, and the second, an attachment for my multitool. I would require Mordite, Gold and a substance called “Liquid Sun”.

I swiftly crafted this attachment using Cobalt and Magnetised Ferrite.

This Solar Ray appears to use local solar radiation and amplify this with an impressively complex laser array to super-heat planetary minerals into a plasma state.

Quite impressive… and insanely dangerous.

Using my Analysis Visor I located a mineral deposit nearby that was particularly concentrated, a perfect mass to test this Solar Ray on.

It made short work of the deposit and left the ground scarred, though was surprisingly thirsty for Sodium to catalyze the process.

I took a moment to enjoy the landscape of this alien world.

There is great beauty in simplicity, and a world void of moisture does not have the capacity for complexity.

The various lifeforms here evolved to withstand furious hell storms that drown the landscape, which is then almost immediately drained from the heat sending the moisture right back into the skies.

A harsh world, nice for a short trip, but I wouldn’t make a home here.

I crafted the Pulsating Core with the Liquid Sun, Mordite and some Gold I had in my ship and took it back to the Monument.

The Monument immediately took the Core and replaced it in my hands with a delicate Heart.

A beautiful organic living organ, that upon receiving, caused great shock, which quickly turned to fascination as I stared at this seemingly impossible thing.

Once again I must be very, very careful with this, as it matures.

I took refuge in a nearby cave from the storms.

My ship was too far away, and the heart would not last the journey.

  1. Omg I am so stuck on this mission I have my pulsating core but I’m dammed if I can find a plaque to exchange it I forgot where I obtained the blue print for the solar ray too.
Can you please advise me on what to do next
    Regards
    Kate

Heya, you’ve probably sorted it by now, but just in case, the mission should send you to a new system with the egg on arrival giving a brief description of the planet to go to in that system then it’s just narrowing down to another plaque, it’s always a different plaque in a new system for each step, and the narrowing down can be a bit of a pita.
