UAS Naming Convention

UAS System Naming Convention Explained

xainesworld logo

The easiest ways to find the information needed to name your system are:

  • Use photomode to get the GLYPHS and then use the PATHFINDER APP
  • Use a Signal Booster to get the GALACTIC COORDINATES and then use the PATHFINDER APP

Naming in the Euclid UAS Division

REGIONS IN EUCLID

A REGION of space in No Man’s Sky is defined by it’s X, Y, Z coordinate location in the Galaxy.

Galaxies are shaped like a pizza box, and split up into a 3D grid, each REGION is 400ly~ from one side to the other, and as far as the number go, are cube shaped, though appear differently in the Galactic Map.

Each REGION has anywhere from 200-500+ systems within, and individually vary greatly in number.

The first part, in turquoise, is the REGION TAG and shows the Region of UAS space you are in

In this example the System is in the Puikun Spur REGION and therefore is UAS1

The second part in green is the SYSTEM TAG and is last section of the Galactic Coordinates (with the zeros removed)

In this example the last four digits are 007E so removing the zeros we have 7E

This gives us [UAS17E]

To make it neat we use the Syntax [xxxxxx

The part in orange is the name you wish to call your system (use the procedural name if you don’t wish to rename)

The last part in blue is the PORTAL CODE. This part is optional but useful to include if you have space.

The PORTAL CODE allows you to change the first number of the sequence to represent the planet index. By assigning the planet index this allows you to specify which planet you want a portal address to.

You have a maximum of 42 characters in the name string so as the PORTAL CODE needs15 characters if you give your system a longer name you may not be able to include the PORTAL CODE

Naming in the Eissentam UAS Division

REGIONS IN EISSENTAM

A REGION of space in No Man’s Sky is defined by it’s X, Y, Z coordinate location in the Galaxy.

Galaxies are shaped like a pizza box, and split up into a 3D grid, each REGION is 400ly~ from one side to the other, and as far as the number go, are cube shaped, though appear differently in the Galactic Map.

Each REGION has anywhere from 200-500+ systems within, and individually vary greatly in number.

The first part, in red, is the GALAXY TAG. This has been added to the UAS in Eissentam to enable us to differentiate between the two easily as the region coordinates are the same. For Eissentam we use EIS

The second part, in turquoise, is the REGION TAG and shows the REGION of UAS space you are in

In this example, the System is in the Dibadzla REGION and therefore is UAS1

The third part, in green, is the SYSTEM TAG and is the last section of the Galactic Coordinates (with the zeros removed)

The SYSTEM TAG tells you which solar system you are at within the REGION

In this example the last four digits are 008B so removing the zeros we have 8B

This gives us [EISUAS18B]
