Infinite Refiner Loop

Howdy folks!

Here is a full guide for how to get all of the big materials you are going to need for your gaming fun in No Man’s Sky NEXT.

The Resources this loop can create without any outside interference once established are:

Ferrite Dust

Pure Ferrite

Magnetised Ferrite

Cobalt

Ionised Cobalt

Carbon

Condensed Carbon

Sodium

Sodium Nitrate

Copper

Cadmium

Emeril

Indium

Chromatic Metal

Salt

Chlorine

Paraffinium

Pyrite

Ammonia

Uranium

Phosphorus

Dioxite

Fungal Mould

Frost Crystal

Cactus Flesh

Solanium

Gamma Root

Star Bulb

Silver

Gold

Platinum

Nanite Clusters

No Man's Sky Substance Yellow 2 Copper
No Man's Sky Substance Biome Plant Radio Gamma Root
No Man's Sky Substance Cave 1 Cobalt
No Man's Sky Substance Biome Plant Lush Star Bulb
No Man's Sky Substance Biome Hot Phosphorus

The ability to make these resources in a closed loop also allows you to make many Advanced Resource Forms as well as Trade Goods like:

Ion Battery

Advanced Ion Battery

Warp Cell

Carbon Crystal

TetraCobalt

Chloride Lattice

Destabilised Sodium

Rare Metal Element

Aronium

Dirty Bronze

Herox

Lemmium

Magno-Gold

Grantine

These can all be made through the use of a single Large Refiner and a few Hydroponic Trays.

Though we’ll now go over a solid model with multiple Refiners and Trays that allow for a static system to provide you with everything you need on a daily basis without having to mess around much once it is established.

This build consists of 17 Large Refiners, 32 Large Hydroponic Trays and 2 Small Hydroponic Trays.

These assets are spread over 2 separate compartments for better overall base complexity, yet still remaining efficient and functional.

No Man's Sky Substance Biome Lush Paraffinium
No Man's Sky Substance Land 3 Magnetised Ferrite
No Man's Sky Substance Asteroid 1 Silver
No Man's Sky Substance Fuel 2 Condensed Carbon
No Man's Sky Substance Water 2 Chlorine

For more information about how complexity now works in No Man’s Sky NEXT and why you may wish to compartmentalize you base (especially Freighter bases), see the video .

To keep things simple, we are going to cover a plan that will work well for every Freighter base.

Planetary bases are not as exact and will likely be different for each person whereas as for a Freighter base, this will most likely be just a modular addition.

250 Platinum

250 Silver

250 Gold

250 Indium

250 Carbon

250 Condensed Carbon

250 Cobalt

250 Ionised Cobalt

250 Sodium

250 Sodium Nitrate

500 Salt

500 Chlorine

Absolute Minimum Primary Resources for Loops (Advanced)

75 Chlorine

75 Ionised Cobalt

75 Condensed Carbon

75 Sodium Nitrate

2 Indium

The Rooms

There are 2 rooms, both of which go up (or down) a level on your freighter, this is largely because the stairs freighter building part is far far less resource intensive than a standard corridor (or any corridor), so use the stair to connect to the main unit.

Stairs also allow a little better for line of site unloading.

The first room is a 3 x 3 room, giving a total of 9 potential Large Refiner slots.

Leave the entrance block empty and the center block empty, put a large refiner in the other blocks (7 total)

This will be your Magnetised Ferrite, Chromatic Metal, Carbon Crystal, TetraCobalt, Destabilised Sodium and General Refining Room.

The second room will be 3 x 8 and host 10 Large Refiners, 32 Large Hydroponic Trays and 2 Small Hydroponic Trays.

This will be your Biome specific Resource and Crop room as well as your salt mine.

The quantities for the crops required to plant for this plan are:

20x Gamma Weed

40x Star Bramble

10x Echinocactus

20x Solar Vine

20x Fungal Cluster

20x Frostwort

No Man's Sky Substance Catalyst 2 Sodium Nitrate
No Man's Sky Substance Water 1 Salt
No Man's Sky Substance Biome Plant Toxic Fungal Mould
No Man's Sky Substance Air
No Man's Sky Substance Red 2 Cadmium

The Loops

Here are the loops for infinite and continual resource generation.

1 Ferrite Dust (Gained through Biome Resource 1:1)

1 Pure Ferrite (Gained through Magnetised Ferrite to Pure Ferrite 2:1)

1 Platinum (Gained through Silver + Gold 1:1)

Chromatic Metal 1:30:

1 Silver (Gained through Crafting 50 Ionised Cobalt & 50 Paraffinium or Ammonia to Aronium or Herox, to then refine to Silver 1:250)

1 Gold (Gained through Crafting 50 Ionised Cobalt & 50 Phosphorus or Dioxite to Magno-Gold or Grantine, to then refine to Gold 1:125)

1 Indium (Infinitely looped with Chromatic Metal to make more Indium at 1:4)

Carbon Crystal, TetraCobalt, Destabilised Sodium & Chloride Lattice 50:1:

50 Lesser (Carbon, Cobalt, Sodium, Salt, gained through this loop)

50 Greater (Condensed Carbon, Ionised Cobalt, Sodium Nitrate, Chlorine, gained through this loop)

Paraffinium, Pyrite, Ammonia, Uranium, Phosphorus, Dioxite 1+2:1

1 Salt (Gained through Chloride Lattice Loop)

2 Biome Crop (Star Bulb, Cactus Flesh, Fungal Mould, Gamma Root, Solanium, Frost Crystal)

Thank you for your kind words, the Website was put together by a good friend who goes by the name of ‘Golden Gek’, he’s done an amazing job building the site and continues to help me massively with adding content.

  4. have you noticed that you cant have more than 2 large refiners next to each other anymore? or 3 Mediums? Cuz I sure have and boy its confusing/frustrating :(

  5. We’re a group of volunteers and starting a new scheme in our community.

Your site offered us with valuable information to work on. You’ve done an impressive job
and our entire community will be grateful to you.

  6. Great guide. Wondering how to deal with the refiner bugs on freighters. Resources and end products tend to go missing if you leave the ship or warp it.
